A 20 week programme of volunteering and mentoring
For 18 - 25 year olds based in London
A full time programme covering a total of 30 hours a week
Volunteers will be financially supported for the duration of the Course
The programme comprises of:
Volunteering: The Young Peace Champions will be volunteering on a number of projects including the London Week of Peace and the Annual Youth Achievement Week.
Mentoring: Each young person will have the opportunity to work closely with a seniour individual from one of the many organisations we partner with.
An accredited qualification: Each young person will work towards an accredited qualification that takes into account their personal needs and level of education.
Activities will include training and discussion sessions addressing:
Individual responsibility as a good citizen
Personal development and leadership skills
Promoting healthy and positive attitudes to community
Key issues affecting young Londoners
Gun, knife crime and gang culture - what are the solutions
Fund-raising and campaigning
The Young Peace Champions will be involved in our Londonwide events which take place during the London Week of Peace and the annual Youth Achievement Week.
The Talent Quest auditions
The London Peace Debate
The 5k Peace Run
The Trafalgar Square Concert and Talent Quest
The Peace Awards and Fund Raising dinner
